My Story – 2017

March 27, 2017. It’s unbelievable how fast a year can go by. Exactly one year ago I wrote the previous text and now, 12 months later, I feel like I’m on the right path. With the previous post, I had just earned my first $1000.00 online and I was still working as a waitress to cover all the bills. Now, all my work is location independent and on average I’m making more money per month than I did in my ‘perfect-on-paper’-job. But it’s not really about the money. It’s about being free to do what and be where I feel like (sure, all within reason). I’ve spent a month at Tenerife, a week in Bulgaria, a couple of weeks in Jávea. Later this week I will fly to Germany, the week after to Turkey and in June I’ll be in Lisbon and Barcelona. Maybe Italy in May. I bring my laptop everywhere and keep working – all my clients notice is the different background and my tan when we’re in Skype meetings.

Things are going well and what makes me even happier, is the fact that apparently, I inspire people to follow their heart. I already have 2 invitations to attend different events and share my story on stage. How exciting!

And then there is The Travelling Freelancer. It’s still my passion project, something I’m doing in my spare time with lots of help from volunteers. However, slowly but surely it’s growing into something more. The plans for the TTF Academy are still in early stages, but they’re there.

But most of all, this journey of The Travelling Freelancer has made me find my tribe, as I’d like to call it. The digital nomads, the location independent professionals, whatever you want to call them… I finally feel like I found a group of people I can relate to, and who can relate to me. I never really had that before and it’s quite a wonderful feeling. Thank you, to everyone who has reached out to me, who talked to me, helped me and inspired me. I’ll keep going.

Let’s see where we’ll be in one year!
